About HFC

We are a growing church in the Adelaide Hills region and are proudly a part of the CRC Churches International Movement. We are Pentecostal, which means we believe that God still does supernatural things today. Our meetings are every Sunday morning at 10am, but please have a look at our ‘Event’s page to see all the different things that are coming up.

Our prayer is that you may know the mind blowing love of Jesus Christ in a personal way.

What we believe

The finished work of Jesus Christ

Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” A jar of wine vinegar was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips. When he had received the drink, Jesus said, “It is finished.” With that, he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

John 19:28-30

Everything we do is based on Jesus Christ – who He was, what He said, and finally, what He did. Through Him the sins of the world were taken away by His perfect sacrifice (John 1:29), and the way made open for us to return to God, for Him to be our Heavenly Father (John 1:12). Without Christ we have nothing (Philippians 3:7-9), with Him we have all things (Philippians 4:19).

Every believer ministry

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Ephesians 4:11-13

We don’t believe in ‘seat warmers’ at Hills Family Church. Christ didn’t just prepare a place for us in Heaven when we die, His sacrifice has released us to our destiny here on earth! We also don’t believe that it’s the ‘Pastor’s job’ to do everything, but rather to equip God’s people for works of service’. So, we see every member of our church as a minister of the Gospel, an ambassador for Christ in their world, as salt and light. At Hills Family Church, equipping the saints is very important to us.

Church is family

So now you Gentiles are no longer strangers and foreigners. You are citizens along with all of God’s holy people. You are members of God’s family.

Ephesians 2:19

We take the middle word of our name very seriously. God has brought us together to form a family in our community, and to love each other as such. When we meet it’s not a service as much as a family get together, where we share in each other’s joys and sadness. We strive to be real and go past the ‘good thanks’ response to the question ‘how are you doing?’ Basically, we want to be real, and for people to see God’s love in how we love each other.

Blessed to be a blessing

Jesus called them together and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

Matthew 20:25-28

Jesus has released us into our real lives, lives of service to our God by serving our world. Our mission reflects this truth ‘Creating Christ’s disciples in the service of Nairne’ and our heart is to see God’s Kingdom be expanded in our worlds. Our task is simply this: to find what God is doing in our worlds, and join in with Him. We want to show the truth of what we believe by what we do.
